Thought Bubbles…

Do you remember seeing comic strips in the Sunday paper? It was a color insert with all the comics….Blondie, Family Circus, Mary Worth… The strips contained “bubbles” of the conversations exchanged between characters. It looked like this above the characters’ heads (see below):

Then there was something else, which denoted what the character(s) were thinking. It looked like this. It let the reader of the comic know what the characters were thinking unbeknownst to the other characters. It looked like this:

Well, I have a lot of those “thought bubbles” in response to what I see on the news, read in social media posts or hear friends share. Most of the time I don’t comment on social media posts simply because I don’t want to “get into” anything with someone. Instead, I keep it in my “thought bubble” and many times I research topics for further information or to see if the claims made are factual or credible. But sometimes I just want to comment on something and express my perspective. So hence the reason for this blog. I have always liked to write and I have found it to be a good outlet for my “thought bubbles” without, hopefully offending any one!

To be transparent, I think I would describe myself as a Christian, with moderate/conservative political views. I am middle aged, if my life-expectancy is 128 (figure it out). I am a wife of almost 36 years, a mother and a grandmother. My three grandchildren energize me and keep me laughing! I was a teacher for 36 years and have been retired for five years. I taught high school for 31 years and teenagers hold a special place in my heart. I was raised Catholic and have been a member of the Lutheran denomination for about 35 years. I am an active member in our church and I try to serve as best I can. My heart is saddened by the vitriol and divisiveness in our country, communities and churches. I think Paul should write us a letter just like he did to the Corinthians!

In this blog, I will share some of the ideas I am trying to make sense of in our world. Hopefully, you may find a nugget of wisdom or even a perspective you might share too or never thought of before. I will try my best to make the information I share factual based on research from credible sources. I will cite those sources, so you can check them as well. Sometimes this blog will discuss current events. In fact, the first one will be about something Kelly Clarkson said on a podcast that I think speaks to not only to the education community but parents.

I hope you will join me! Look for a new blog each Monday night (hopefully)!
